Reporting directly to Team Leader the purpose of the role is to operate within the agreed underwriting authority and according to underwriting philosophy and strategies. You will be required to take personal ownership of underwriting allocated quotations, proposals, policies, schedules and endorsements. To be successful you will need to work as part of a team, prioritise own work and workloads, ideally have sound product knowledge with some commercial experience, good influencing and negotiating skills and awareness of market issues and dynamics.Personal commitment to the role is essential along with an ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines.
Applicants will need to be computer literate, and able to work effectively within a team environment.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, along with strong selling and negotiation skills and have an understanding of technical underwriting, philosophy and strategy.
Multi-skilled underwriting experience is desirable.
